My mom reported last night that she has been having tooth pain all day yesterday; she tried some clove & salt water but that was not enough & was asking for acetaminophen to help her pain (she remembers to avoid ibuprofen or other NSAIDs due to ckd). I explained that she should be seen by a dentist in case it’s infected & needs to be extracted before she goes on a trip. She was NOT happy to hear about the possibility of worsening pain or extraction(s). 🙏🏼💕 I texted a dental practice last night to see if they could see her at all this week or next before she boards a plane (concerned that the cabin pressure could worsen her pain & swelling)… they texted & replied "No" for this morning or this week (still on waitlist for October)! I called a few more places this morning, explaining her need to be seen & not having a dentist til Oct.. Sierra Dental was also booked up & said if an extraction is needed, they couldn't do it today & referred me to call Star Smile in Antelope… I called promptly at 9AM & the dentist (Dr. S) commented that he could possibly see her today! The receptionist got on the phone & scheduled us for 10AM!! My mom didn't even have the chance to think about breakfast when I told her we need to get going for a dental appt!! 😳 She was surprised, but happy & willing 🙌🏼 to be seen today! 💕 Since she doesn't have an actual dentist referring her today, they were able to do x-rays & a full exam today, not just address the tooth pain, in case something is going on elsewhere besides the tooth bothering her now. She had an infected tooth & ended up needing 2 teeth extracted! Grateful that my mom allowed the work to be done and for everyone at Star Smiled Dental for being able to see her so quickly, for being so kind & helpful today!! Tati Chi27 June 2026I am very grateful to the doctor and the entire staff for their caring, attentive, and respectful attitude. My husband needed a teeth cleaning, but there were no openings on the dates he wanted; we were told they would call back if a slot became available. They called the very next day and offered a convenient time. As for me, I came in for a cleaning: they took an X-ray, the doctor spotted a cavity, and quickly found time to treat the tooth.
